Paramount Plus Prices to Rise in Early 2026

Paramount Plus will increase its subscription prices starting January 15, 2026, affecting both its Essential and Premium plans. This decision comes as part of the company’s earnings report released on a recent Monday.

Price Changes for Paramount Plus Plans

The new pricing structure is as follows:

  • Essential Plan (Ad-supported): Increases from $7.99 to $8.99 per month
  • Premium Plan (Ad-free): Increases from $12.99 to $13.99 per month

Paramount stated that this price adjustment is intended to enhance the overall user experience and expand its programming offerings. The company has been increasing its subscription costs on an annual basis, similar to many other streaming services. Previously, Paramount Plus raised its prices in 2023 and again in June of the same year.

Subscriber Growth and Strategic Partnerships

Recent statistics show that under Skydance’s ownership, Paramount Plus gained 1.4 million subscribers, raising its total to 79.1 million. The platform has also secured a significant $7.7 billion deal to stream live UFC fights, further boosting its appeal to subscribers.

Elimination of Free Trials and Technology Upgrades

In addition to the price hikes, Paramount Plus will no longer offer free trials. The company is also reviewing its discount practices. To improve performance, Paramount plans to update the technology behind Paramount Plus and Pluto TV, its ad-supported service. Furthermore, the company is exploring artificial intelligence solutions to enhance personalization and user recommendations.

These changes reflect Paramount’s ongoing commitment to reinvesting in its platform and staying competitive in a rapidly evolving streaming landscape.
