Oilers’ Zach Hyman poised for return next week, coach confirms
The Edmonton Oilers are on the brink of welcoming back a key player. Winger Zach Hyman is set to return to the lineup next week, according to head coach Kris Knoblauch. While there is a chance he could play in Monday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, it is more likely that he will make his season debut later in the week.
Zach Hyman’s Recovery Timeline
Hyman, who is 33 years old, has been sidelined since May 27, when he sustained a wrist injury during Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars. He underwent surgery over the summer to fix fractured and damaged ligaments. As a result, Hyman was placed on long-term injury reserve at the beginning of the 2025-26 season.
Although an early November return was anticipated, his comeback has been postponed. Recently, Hyman has been practicing with the team as he prepares to rejoin the lineup.
