Western Maryland experienced its first snowfall of the season on Monday, as colder air swept through the region. This snowy weather also affected parts of West Virginia and the Midwest, where lake-effect snowfall was observed.

In Garrett County, snowflakes were reported along U.S. 219 near Deep Creek. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for areas in Maryland and West Virginia through Tuesday morning. Forecasts indicate that an additional one to two inches of snow may accumulate by early Tuesday, raising total snowfall in higher elevations to between three and six inches.
Flurries Expected in the D.C. Region
The D.C. area woke up to a chilly morning, with temperatures in the 30s and wind chills feeling like the 20s. Residents were advised to dress warmly, as daytime temperatures were only expected to reach the upper 30s to mid-40s.
