Collision in Lewisham Leads to Man’s Arrest
A man has been charged following a serious collision in Lewisham. This incident involved a pedestrian and occurred on Southend Lane, Bellingham, on Friday, 31 October, around 10:13 PM.
Details of the Collision
At the time of the incident, a 65-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle that allegedly did not stop at the scene. She is currently hospitalized in a life-threatening condition.
Arrest and Charges
Michael McLaughlin, a 38-year-old resident of Heath Park, Buncrana in the Republic of Ireland, was apprehended on Friday, 7 November. His arrest took place on a motorway in Northern Ireland by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

- Failing to stop after a road traffic collision
Following his arrest, McLaughlin was escorted back to England. He was interviewed at a police station in South London and subsequently charged on Saturday, 8 November.
Court Appearance
McLaughlin is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 10 November.
