Patriots Exclude Stevenson, Boutte, Hooper for Jets Matchup

As the New England Patriots prepare for their upcoming matchup against the New York Jets, they will be without several key players due to injuries. The game is scheduled for Thursday night at 8:15 p.m., broadcast on Prime Video.

Injuries Impacting Patriots Roster

Starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson will miss his third consecutive game due to a toe injury. Additionally, wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, who leads the team with five touchdown receptions, will be sidelined for the second straight game because of a hamstring issue.

Also absent will be linebacker Christian Elliss, dealing with a hip injury, and tight end Austin Hooper, who is out with a concussion. This marks Hooper’s first missed game this season.

Patriots’ Offensive Adjustments

With Stevenson unavailable, rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson has stepped up. In the last game, he contributed significantly with 55- and 69-yard touchdown runs, helping secure a 28-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson: Out (toe injury)
  • Kayshon Boutte: Out (hamstring injury)
  • Christian Elliss: Out (hip injury)
  • Austin Hooper: Out (concussion)

The only other running back currently on the roster is Terrell Jennings, who is questionable for the Jets game due to a knee injury sustained during the Buccaneers match. To enhance depth at running back, the Patriots are likely to promote D’Ernest Johnson from the practice squad for the third consecutive week. They have also re-signed veteran Jonathan Ward to the practice squad, providing another option for elevation.

Jets’ Injury Concerns

Meanwhile, the Jets will also be missing key personnel. Starter Garrett Wilson is confirmed out after suffering a right knee sprain. Initially reported earlier this week, Wilson is expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks.

Current Team Performance

The Patriots are having a strong season with an 8-2 record and have won seven straight games. This performance ties them with the Denver Broncos for the longest current winning streak in the NFL. In contrast, the Jets have recently found some momentum, winning their last two games after starting the season with seven losses.
