Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Preseason Update Released

Activision has released the preseason update for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7,” making significant changes to improve gameplay experiences in both Multiplayer and Warzone. These updates aim to refine Aim Assist, movement mechanics, XP earn rates, and weapon tuning ahead of the official launch.

Aim Assist Adjustments

The update introduces key changes to Aim Assist mechanics, addressing feedback gathered from the community. Controller players had an advantage in close-range situations, while keyboard and mouse users performed better at long ranges. The adjustments seek to balance these disparities.

  • Increased the range for achieving full Rotational Aim Assist strength.
  • Slight enhancement of Rotational Aim Assist at very long ranges.
  • A new requirement mandates right stick movement to fully activate Rotational Aim Assist.

If players use only the left stick during engagements, the effectiveness of Aim Assist will be reduced.

Movement Enhancements

Several movement updates enhance gameplay fluidity:

  • Smoother and faster mantling mechanics.
  • A reduction in slide acceleration, speed, and duration.
  • Correction of an issue that allowed players to dive unintentionally.

XP Earn Rates

The new update also revamps XP earn rates:

  • Weapon XP earn rates increased, allowing faster weapon leveling—approximately 25% quicker than in Black Ops 6.
  • Daily Challenge Bonus XP raised from 3,000 to 5,000 XP.
  • A new feature permits players to re-roll one Daily Challenge each day for a better alignment with their playstyle.

Medals and Score Events

The update adds numerous new Multiplayer and Zombies Medals. Players can view their achievements in the Medal Collection section under Career > Stats.

Weapon Tuning in Black Ops 7

The preseason update also includes weapon tuning changes across both Multiplayer and Zombies modes. Some of the important updates include:

  • Adjustments to SMGs and the M15 MOD 0 assault rifle’s damage range.
  • Overhauls to shotgun damage mechanics.
  • Modification of attachment attributes affecting Damage Range and Bullet Velocity.

Importantly, ADS and Sprint-to-Fire penalties have been slightly increased for most weapon classes, enhancing combat engagement strategies.

Looking Ahead

As “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7” prepares for launch, developers emphasize their commitment to continuous tuning and adjustments. Player feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the gaming experience, ensuring it remains competitive and enjoyable for the entire community.
