Marlene, a local resident aged 82, shared her frustration, noting that floods resulted in unsafe conditions for pedestrians. Numerous residents contacted the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) to voice their concerns regarding these persistent issues.
Drainage Issues Highlighted
Ruth Kane, another resident, expressed dismay over the recent drainage installations which did not address the immediate flooding problems. She noted that water accumulation occurred despite new drainage systems being put in place just a few houses away. The lack of effective drainage management has led to sludge buildup, exacerbating the flooding risks.
