En Garde Arts will hold its 2025 Annual Benefit on December 8, 2025, at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre, located within Symphony Space. This special event will recognize Theresa Rebeck for her prolific contributions to the theater as the most produced female playwright on Broadway.

Honoring Theresa Rebeck

At the benefit, acclaimed actor Tony Shalhoub, who has received multiple awards including a Tony Award, a Golden Globe, and four Emmy Awards, will present the 2025 En Garde Arts’ Change Maker Award to Rebeck. The ceremony is a testament to her impact and legacy in the theatrical world.

Performances and Highlights

The evening is set to feature an array of exceptional performances:

  • Alfred Molina, a three-time Tony nominee
  • Marin Ireland, a Tony nominee
  • Delilah Napier, an emerging talent

These artists will present scenes from “A Foreign Body,” a work written by two-time Emmy nominee Neena Beber and directed by Rebeck. Additionally, Krysta Rodriguez will perform a poignant song from Rebeck’s television series “Smash.” Richard Kind will add humor with a reading from “The Understudy,” while Cyndi Lauper will deliver a special video tribute.

Event Details

The benefit will host a limited audience of just 160 guests, creating an intimate atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the performances and honor Rebeck. Proceeds from the event will support six theater productions currently in development.

Supporting Artists in Need

Furthermore, the benefit will aid over 50 writers, composers, directors, and performers through the “Uncommon Voices” residency program. This initiative focuses on issues important to artists, particularly from underrepresented communities.
