Shah Rukh Khan Classics Feature in India’s International Film Festival Return
Three classic films featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be showcased in an inflatable cinema format at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). This festival is set to take place from November 20 to November 28 in Goa.
Shah Rukh Khan Films Highlight the Festival
The three films making their inflatable theatres debut include:
- Chak De! India
- Darr
- Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
This initiative is a collaboration between the National Film Development Corporation and the Entertainment Society of Goa. Mobile digital theatre company PictureTime Digiplex is facilitating the inflatable cinema experience.
Diverse Programming and Film Categories
This year’s programming encompasses a variety of categories including:

- Indian Panorama Classics
- Nostalgia
- Children’s Cinema
Contemporary films featured in the lineup are:
- 12th Fail by Vidhu Vinod Chopra
- Manjummel Boys (Malayalam-language blockbuster)
- Srikanth starring Rajkummar Rao
- Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway featuring Rani Mukerji
- Uunchai by Sooraj Barjatya
Classic selections include notable works from renowned directors such as:
- Satyajit Ray’s Shatranj Ke Khilari
- Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay!
- Anup Singh’s Qissa
- Vijay Anand’s Teesri Manzil
- Yash Chopra’s Chandni and Kala Patthar
Children’s Programming
A special segment is dedicated to young audiences, featuring:

Inflatable Theatre Experience
The inflatable theatre will be set up at the Kala Academy, a primary venue for IFFI. This venue can accommodate over 1,000 visitors each day, including international delegates and cinema enthusiasts.
In addition to the main venue, open-air screenings will be held at various locations throughout North and South Goa. Each of these locations is expected to attract an additional 300-400 viewers daily.

This year’s festival promises to celebrate the diversity and cultural richness of Indian cinema, featuring a blend of iconic Shah Rukh Khan classics alongside both classic and contemporary films.
