On a morning commute that turned tragic, two passenger trains collided in the Czech Republic, resulting in injuries to 57 individuals. The incident occurred near Ceske Budejovice at approximately 6:20 AM.

Emergency services reported the accident took place about 70 miles south of Prague. One train involved was an express service. Firefighters worked diligently to evacuate all passengers from both trains.

A spokesperson from a regional hospital confirmed the admission of four patients with serious injuries. Local authorities indicated that nine people sustained moderate injuries, while another 25 suffered from minor injuries.

Reports highlighted that firefighters had to rescue the driver from one of the trains. Images captured at the scene showed significant damage to the front ends of both trains.

In response to the accident, train services between Ceske Budejovice and Pilsen have been suspended. Authorities indicated that operations are not expected to resume until later in the afternoon.
