WUCL Matchday 4: Women’s Champions League Fantasy Team Unveiled
The deadline for Matchday 4 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) Fantasy season is approaching. Enthusiasts are gearing up for team selections as the competition heats up.
Current Rankings and Strategy
After a successful Matchday 2, which pushed me to 4th in the global rankings, I’m optimistic about my strategy. Having utilized both my Wildcard and Limitless chips earlier, I find myself in a promising position as we move into the final league stages. Let’s break down my current squad as we approach Matchday 4.
Goalkeepers
- Stina Johannes and Lola Gallardo provide a solid rotation. Each keeper plays on different days in Matchdays 4 and 5.
- Both Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg are currently outside the top four, heightening their need for points and reducing rotation risks.
Defenders
Janou Levels has not been impressive, earning just one point in both Matchday 1 and Matchday 2. She may be replaced if a transfer becomes available. In contrast, Emily Fox and Giulia Gwinn show promise with upcoming favorable fixtures. Millie Bright remains a reliable choice despite a challenging fixture against Barcelona.
Midfielders
- Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmati are crucial, with Putellas noted for her consistent performance and penalty responsibilities.
- Caroline Weir is also a key player, having secured her fourth attacking return in Matchday 3, contributing to her team’s success.
- Klara Bühl is in top form, with recent standout performances against strong teams like Barcelona and Arsenal.
- Jule Brand is part of my OL Lyon lineup, with her starting status in Matchday 3 providing some reassurance. I will watch the early kick-off closely before confirming my choices.
Attackers
Clàudia Pina is my final Barcelona selection, boasting impressive stats with an average of 0.96 xGI per 90 minutes. Her ability to impact games off the bench cannot be understated.
- Vicki Becho has had limited playing time, making her future uncertain within the squad. If she remains sidelined, I might transfer her out for Melchie Dumornay.
- Ada Hegerberg shines as a potential captaincy option after her remarkable performance and two goals against Wolfsburg.
Conclusion
As Matchday 4 approaches, my squad configuration will depend heavily on confirmed line-ups. With critical decisions to make regarding transfers and captaincy, being informed is key to success in the UWCL Fantasy league.
