Falcons Place Michael Penix on Injured Reserve List
The Atlanta Falcons have officially placed quarterback Michael Penix Jr. on injured reserve, a decision announced on Wednesday. The injury stems from a partially torn ACL in his left knee, which will require season-ending surgery.
Team Adjustments Following Penix’s Injury
In response to this significant loss, the Falcons have made several key roster changes:
- Kirk Cousins has been named the starting quarterback.
- Easton Stick has been signed to the active roster as the backup.
- Kyle Trask joins the practice squad as the third quarterback.
Divine Deablo’s Return from Injured Reserve
Additionally, Atlanta designated inside linebacker Divine Deablo to return from injured reserve. This designation opens a 21-day practice window for him.
Deablo previously fractured his left forearm during a game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.
