UCL continues to enhance its reputation as a leader in sustainability, recently securing the top position in the UK and the third spot globally in the QS World University Rankings for Sustainability 2026. This ranking reflects an impressive overall score of 99 out of 100, marking a significant rise from its previous joint fifth position.

The QS Sustainability Rankings evaluate universities based on their approach to critical environmental and social challenges. More than 2,000 institutions are assessed on key indicators, including:
