With his 1,642nd career point, Ovechkin surpassed Joe Sakic, who previously held the 10th position with 1,641 points on 625 goals and 1,016 assists over 1,378 games. Ovechkin reached this milestone on his second goal of the game, which was set up by a great pass from center Dylan Strome.
