Steelers Reveal Inactive Players for Week 12 Clash with Bears

The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to face off against the Chicago Bears in Week 12 at Soldier Field. The team has announced their inactive players for the game, confirming significant changes to their roster.

Quarterback Update

Starting quarterback Mason Rudolph will lead the Steelers today. He takes the place of Aaron Rodgers, who is inactive due to a broken bone in his left wrist. Rodgers suffered the injury during last week’s match against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Coach Mike Tomlin declared Rudolph the starter after evaluating Rodgers’ limited practice participation leading up to the game. “He fought all week, but it’s the prudent decision to keep him out,” Tomlin said.

Mason Rudolph’s Readiness

This will be Rudolph’s first start of the season. He has appeared in three games so far, completing 14 of 18 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown. Rudolph has been preparing diligently, stating, “My mindset is to be ready if I need to play.”

Tomlin expressed confidence in Rudolph’s ability, praising his innate self-belief and preparation. “Confidence is significant, and he has developed that skill over time,” Tomlin noted.

Defense and Other Inactives

Linebacker Alex Highsmith is among the inactives this week due to a pectoral injury. He expressed frustration at being sidelined but remains dedicated to his recovery: “I’m just trying to dominate rehab.” Rookie linebacker Jack Sawyer is expected to receive more playing time in his absence.

Cornerback Status

Cornerback Darius Slay, who was previously in concussion protocol, has been cleared to play. Tomlin indicated that if Slay is available, he will start against the Bears. However, cornerback James Pierre will also see significant playing time, given his consistent performance and experience.

Inactive Players List

  • Aaron Rodgers (QB)
  • Alex Highsmith (LB)
  • Other players TBD

As the Steelers prepare for their Week 12 clash with the Bears, the changes in their lineup will play a crucial role in performance on the field. Stay tuned for updates as the game unfolds.
