Real Snow Transforms Disney’s World of Frozen in Mountain Storm
Guests visiting Disney resorts usually anticipate specific weather conditions. In places like Anaheim and Florida, sunny days are the norm. However, occasional weather disruptions can occur, especially during Florida’s hurricane season and potential earthquakes in California. Snowfall at these parks is extremely rare.
In March 2023, Disneyland experienced a light dusting of snow, the first in the park’s history. Meanwhile, Walt Disney World has not seen snow since January 1977, when a minimal snowfall occurred.
Exciting Snowfall at Disneyland Paris
This year, Disneyland Paris witnessed its first snowfall of the season. It was particularly special as it marked the inaugural snowfall on the World of Frozen area. Guests could see the Kingdom of Arendelle blanketed in snow, despite the land not yet being open to visitors.
Features of the World of Frozen
The World of Frozen will recreate the enchanting Kingdom of Arendelle from the beloved Frozen films. Attractions planned for this area include:
- A boat ride similar to the popular Frozen Ever After in EPCOT.
- Elsa’s Ice Castle.
- The Village of Arendelle.
Disneyland Paris Expansion
The World of Frozen is part of a major expansion at Disneyland Paris. This initiative will nearly double the size of the former Walt Disney Studios Park, which is being transformed into Disney Adventure World. In addition to the Frozen attractions, Disney Adventure World will feature:
- A Lion King-themed area, with concept art already released.
- An attraction inspired by Pixar’s Up.
The grand opening of the World of Frozen is anticipated for Spring 2026, with an official date expected to be announced soon. The sight of real snow blanketing Arendelle certainly added a magical touch to the Disney experience.
