TTC Closes 7-Kilometre Subway Section for Weekend Maintenance

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has announced significant subway closures affecting thousands of commuters this weekend. The service interruption will impact a 7-kilometre segment of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth from Keele Station to Kipling Station.

TTC Subway Closures Details

This closure will take place over the entire weekend, specifically on Saturday, November 29, and Sunday, November 30, 2025. This shutdown is part of ongoing maintenance and upgrades on the subway system.

Previous Closures

Riders may recall that this section of Line 2 has experienced similar full-weekend closures recently. The last shutdown of this stretch occurred in late September. Overall, the TTC has planned a total of 38 full-weekend outages for 2025, as announced earlier this year.

Replacement Services

To mitigate the disruption, the TTC will operate replacement shuttle buses throughout the weekend. These buses will provide crucial connections for passengers needing to travel along the affected portion of Line 2, ensuring access to important inter-city routes.

Station Accessibility During Closure

  • All stations within the closure area will remain open.
  • Passengers can still purchase or reload fare cards and connect to surface routes.
  • Note that the Grenview Blvd. entrance to Royal York Station will not be accessible during this weekend’s closure.

The TTC is expected to resume normal subway operations on Monday, December 1, starting at approximately 6 a.m.
