Sharks Secure Signing of Marchant

Sale Sharks have officially announced the signing of England centre Joe Marchant on a long-term deal. The contract will take effect at the beginning of the 2026/27 season.

Joe Marchant: Career Highlights

At 29 years old, Marchant is known for his impressive stint at Harlequins, where he made over 150 appearances. He played a vital role in Harlequins’ playoff victory over Exeter Chiefs in the dramatic 2021 Premiership final.

After the 2023 Rugby World Cup, he joined Stade Francais, a French Top14 club. Marchant quickly became an integral player there, completing more than 50 appearances. Currently, Stade Francais holds the third spot in the Top 14 standings.

International Experience

Marchant debuted for the England national team in August 2019, during a match against Wales at Twickenham. To date, he has earned 26 international caps. However, since moving to France, he has not been part of coach Steve Borthwick’s squad.
