Detroit Lions Receive Positive Update on Amon-Ra St. Brown Injury

The Detroit Lions recently received an encouraging update about star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown’s injury. St. Brown sustained the injury during the first quarter of a game against the Green Bay Packers. He was engaged as a blocker when a collision involving teammates Kayode Awosika and Trystan Colon occurred.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Injury Update

Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed cautious optimism regarding St. Brown’s condition. He indicated that the injury may not be long-term, suggesting St. Brown could potentially miss just a game or two. “I don’t feel like this is long, long-term,” Campbell stated. “That’s the good news, but it could be a week or two, maybe if we are lucky.”

Upcoming Games and Schedule

Fortunately for the Lions, they have some time before their next games. They will face a critical matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. Following that, the team will benefit from a mini-bye week before an NFC clash against the Los Angeles Rams, which is scheduled 16 days later.

St. Brown’s Season Performance

As of now, St. Brown leads the Lions with an impressive 75 receptions, totaling 884 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. Despite his absence, the Lions managed to maintain offensive momentum against a tough Packers defense.

Team Adjustments

  • Jameson Williams excelled, recording seven receptions for 144 yards and one touchdown.
  • Rookie Isaac TeSlaa and veteran Tom Kennedy also contributed key plays during the game.

However, St. Brown is not the only receiver facing injury concerns. Veteran Kalif Raymond missed the Thanksgiving Day game due to an ankle injury, and his status for the upcoming game against the Cowboys remains uncertain. If Raymond is unable to play, the Lions may need to secure additional reinforcements in their receiving corps, especially since tight end Sam LaPorta is out for the season due to back surgery.
