Evri Driver Fired Amid Parcel Delivery Complaints
Residents of Netherton reported serious delivery issues involving an Evri courier, leading to the driver’s termination. Complaints arose after multiple residents noticed they were not receiving their parcels as confirmed by Evri notifications, which included misleading photographs.
Evri Driver Fired Amid Parcel Delivery Complaints
The situation escalated when community members conducted their own investigations and uncovered CCTV footage showing the Evri courier’s questionable behavior. Instead of delivering parcels, the driver allegedly walked off with the items, leaving residents frustrated.
Investigation Reveals Misconduct
- Local residents observed the courier failing to knock or ring doorbells.
- CCTV footage confirmed that the courier placed parcels at various doorsteps, took pictures as proof, and then removed them.
Sharon Woodford, a resident and mother from Netherton, experienced this firsthand. She ordered two bracelets for her daughter and niece, costing £80. Although she received delivery confirmation on November 17, the package was missing when she checked at her neighbor’s door, despite confirmation showing it had been delivered there.
Sharon expressed concern for others, highlighting that many families are counting on Christmas deliveries, and missing parcels can be especially taxing financially. Chloe Harrison-King, another resident, experienced a similar issue. After confirming the delivery of clothing, her items also went missing, prompting her to lose faith in the delivery service.
Community Outcry
Derek Wood, a former soldier and resident, described the situation as widespread in the area. He reported a package he received had been ripped open, with its contents missing. He voiced concerns about the increased stress for families during the holiday season when replacements for missing gifts can be difficult to afford.
Evri’s Response
An Evri spokesperson addressed the complaints, reaffirming the company’s commitment to delivering every parcel with care. They emphasized their zero-tolerance approach to unacceptable behavior. The courier involved in the incidents will no longer deliver for Evri.
Evri operates internationally, handling approximately 900 million parcels annually. The company boasts a workforce of about 30,000 couriers, most of whom are dedicated to serving their communities, with an average customer rating of 4.6 out of 5.
As the holiday season approaches, consumer confidence in delivery services like Evri is more crucial than ever. Many residents hope for improvements in the delivery process to ensure timely and reliable service.
