Overnight Snowstorm to Sweep Across Northeast Ohio
A winter weather event is poised to impact Northeast Ohio over the weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland predicts a fast-moving snowstorm late Saturday, bringing a quick accumulation to the region.
Winter Weather Advisory for Northeast Ohio
The NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for several counties in Northeast Ohio, including:
- Cuyahoga
- Lake
- Geauga
- Ashtabula
Additionally, parts of northwest Pennsylvania will also feel the effects of this winter storm. The snowfall is expected to begin late Saturday evening and continue into the overnight hours.
Snow Accumulation Forecast
Forecasters anticipate that the region could see:
- 1 to 3 inches of wet snow accumulation
As temperatures are projected to rise into the mid-30s by Sunday morning, this may lead to a mix of rain and snow. Travelers in the area should remain alert for reduced visibility and slippery road conditions early on Sunday.
Looking Ahead: More Snow on Monday
Following this storm, the NWS indicates another low-pressure system could bring light to moderate snow accumulations Monday night into Tuesday. Additional weather impacts may develop as the week moves on.
This weekend’s snowstorm arrives shortly after the region experienced its first significant snowfall of the year. On Thanksgiving Day, various areas recorded substantial snowfall, including:
- Aurora and Solon: 12 inches
- Middlefield: 10 inches
- Brooklyn: 9 inches
Residents and travelers are urged to stay informed and prepared as the winter weather unfolds.
