The incident occurred about 16 kilometers east of Cranbrook, B.C., over the past weekend. According to CPKC spokesperson Patrick Waldron, track repairs were completed early Sunday morning, allowing rail traffic to resume after safety inspections.

One of the impacted residents is Jamie Jones, who operates a nearly 400-hectare cattle farm near Wardner. She and her family were forced to evacuate after being informed of the propane leak. While they were given the option of temporary accommodations by the railway, they chose to stay in their vehicle nearby.
