Burger King Launches SpongeBob-Themed Menu: Discover the New Items

Burger King is embracing the beloved animated series with its latest offering, the SpongeBob-themed menu. This new menu launches in U.S. locations starting December 2, following a recent partnership with “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” announced on December 1. The specialty items will be available for a limited time, while supplies last.

SpongeBob Menu Highlights

The SpongeBob Menu features innovative items inspired by characters from the movie. Here’s a closer look at the new offerings:

  • SpongeBob’s Krabby Whopper: A quarter-pound beef patty grilled and served on a yellow square bun, topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, ketchup, and mayo.
  • Mr. Krabs’ Cheesy Bacon Tots: Crispy, coin-shaped potato tots filled with cheese and bacon, presented in a treasure chest carton.
  • Patrick’s Star-berry Shortcake Pie: A slice of strawberry shortcake pie featuring creamy strawberry and vanilla layers with a cookie crumb crust, topped with star-shaped sprinkles.
  • Pirate’s Frozen Pineapple Float: A refreshing pineapple-flavored frozen drink with tropical cold foam on top.
  • Bikini Bottom Bundle: A combination offering that includes all four menu items, served in a pineapple-shaped box with a medium float and an 8-piece serving of Cheesy Bacon Tots.
  • King Jr. Meal: This meal comes in a special-edition pineapple-shaped box with a choice of one of six collectible SpongeBob toys, plus a limited-edition crown.

Excitement from Burger King’s CMO

Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer at Burger King, shared his enthusiasm regarding the collaboration. He stated, “This latest partnership with The SpongeBob Movie might just be our most exciting menu yet, featuring four delicious innovations, exclusive toys, and distinctive packaging.”

Previous Collaborations

This isn’t Burger King’s first foray into SpongeBob-themed food. Recently, Wendy’s also joined the celebration of the franchise, launching its Krabby Patty Kollab. This collaboration, in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary, featured items such as a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty and the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger, which offered a unique twist on the classic cartoon burger.

The animated series “SpongeBob SquarePants” first premiered in 1999 and continues to be a significant cultural influence. With these new additions to their menu, Burger King aims to delight fans and attract families seeking fun dining experiences.
