2025-26 Auburn Staff Updates
Auburn University recently underwent significant changes in its football program. After two seasons, the university decided to part ways with head coach Hugh Freeze in early November. Freeze’s tenure resulted in a 15-19 record, failing to replicate the offensive success he experienced at previous coaching stops, including Arkansas State, Ole Miss, and Liberty. As per his contract, Auburn will owe him $15.8 million with no mitigation required.
In November, Auburn finalized its search for a new head coach, announcing the hiring of Alex Golesh. Golesh, previously the offensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee, signed a six-year deal worth $7.4 million annually, which includes substantial incentives. He previously revitalized the South Florida (USF) program, leading them to consecutive bowl games and a standout 9-3 season that began with two ranked victories over Boise State and Florida.
