Neal Brown’s Coaching Background
Brown is recognized as one of the most esteemed offensive strategists in college football. He brings 10 seasons of head coaching experience at the FBS level and a total of 23 years of coaching experience.
As a head coach, Brown has amassed a record of 72 wins and 51 losses, including seven bowl game appearances and five victories. His teams also won the Sun Belt Conference championship in 2017. Notably, he was honored as the 2017 Sun Belt Coach of the Year during his time at Troy.

- West Virginia: 6 seasons with 37 wins, 4 bowl berths, and a 9-4 record in 2023.
- Troy University: 4 seasons resulting in a 35-16 record, with a .794 winning percentage from 2016 to 2018.

At West Virginia, his leadership led to six First Team All-American selections and a historic number of 51 All-America honors. His program achieved a remarkable 90% Graduation Success Rate for three consecutive years.
Background and Education
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Brown was an all-state wide receiver in high school. He played at the University of Kentucky and finished his college career at UMass, where he received accolades for his academic and athletic performance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in business administration.
