Uncle Arrested for Raping 14-Year-Old Orphan in Uttar Pradesh

A 14-year-old orphan girl was reportedly raped by her uncle in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred when the girl was alone at home while her aunt was away.

Details of the Incident

The girl, who lost her mother and whose father has been missing for two years, has been living with her uncle. According to Circle Officer Dr. Ravishankar, the girl was assaulted after resisting the attack. The uncle allegedly hit her and threatened her with severe consequences if she reported the matter.

A local woman provided vital assistance to the victim. She helped the girl reach the police station to file a First Information Report (FIR).

Police Action

• The police registered a case under Section 63 (rape) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
• Relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have also been invoked.

The accused, aged 35, has been taken into custody. Meanwhile, the girl was sent for a medical examination following the incident.
