Roberta Hess Announces Major Career Move
Roberta Darlene Hess, aged 77, passed away on November 28, 2025. Her peaceful departure came after a life filled with love and creativity.
Early Life and Education
Born on July 31, 1948, in Mansfield, Roberta was the daughter of Chester and Audrey (Davis) Turner. She grew up in Lucas, Ohio, in a large, supportive family and graduated from Lucas High School.
Marriage and Family
In 1965, Roberta met John Louis Hess, her future husband. They were married and enjoyed 36 happy years together. Roberta is survived by her children: Janese R. Jones and John L. Hess, Jr. She also leaves behind her sister, Peggy A. Nusbaum; brother, Ronald G. Turner; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Career and Passions
Roberta had a fulfilling career, starting as a spotter at Marco Photo. She later became a manager at The Landings, renowned for her dedication and warmth. Her talents extended beyond her professional life. She loved crafting, cooking, and tending to her whimsical outdoor fairy gardens. Her humor and caring nature profoundly impacted those around her.
Legacy
Roberta’s family remembers her as a creative spirit who brought joy to their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband and several siblings, as well as her grandson, Blake Hess.
Memorial Service
A gathering to honor Roberta’s life will take place on December 13, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario. The gathering starts at 12:00 PM, with the service following at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
