Stacey Solomon Explains Why Healthy Disagreements Are Key in Her Marriage to Joe Swash
Stacey Solomon, a prominent television personality known for her family-centered approach, recently discussed the dynamics of her marriage to Joe Swash in an exclusive interview with El-Balad. Solomon, who married Swash in 2022, shared insights on the importance of healthy disagreements in their relationship.
Healthy Disagreements in Marriage
During the interview, Solomon emphasized that arguments can be beneficial. “I think the best thing to do in a relationship is fall out!” she stated. This candid approach allows her and Joe to express their feelings openly. She noted, “We love a good row – we’ll be fuming with each other, then we can laugh and get over it.” For Solomon, suppressing feelings only leads to discomfort in the relationship.
The Foundation of Their Relationship
Stacey and Joe focus on navigating their busy lives with their five children. Solomon explained that their relationship thrives on mutual respect and shared values. Despite occasional conflicts, they remember the reasons they fell in love. “Even if we have a couple of months where it’s tough, we eventually recall why we got together,” she said.
Everyday Challenges
Common disagreements in their household include mundane tasks like recycling. Solomon humorously reflected, “How can you not fall out with your husband? We don’t have a house full of staff.” The couple relies on family help, with her parents assisting with childcare and household chores. Solomon remarks that their life can often feel chaotic with five children, emphasizing the challenges they face together.
Different Sleep Schedules
In discussing their living arrangements, Solomon confirmed that they sometimes sleep in separate beds due to differing schedules. “I’m often in bed by 9 pm while he’s up till 1 am,” she shared. She views marriage as a flexible construct that should adapt to their family’s needs.
How They Met
Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash’s romance began when they met on the set of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2010. Joe had previously won the show, and although he was interested in Stacey, she admitted she barely registered their meeting. “All I could think about was seeing Zachary, who was waiting for me,” she recalled. Joe, on the other hand, remembered their meeting vividly, joking that she had been “the worst-smelling campmate of all time.”
