Discover Your Gaming Trends with Discord Checkpoint: A Guide to Viewing Stats
Discord has introduced its first personalized year-end recap, named Discord Checkpoint. This feature, akin to Spotify Wrapped, offers users insights into their gaming habits throughout the year.
What is Discord Checkpoint?
Launched on December 4, 2023, Discord Checkpoint provides a comprehensive summary of users’ activity. The release aligns with Discord’s 10th anniversary. While it remains unclear if this will become an annual tradition, the company hints that future updates may be in store beyond 2025.
Key Features of Discord Checkpoint
- Total hours spent in voice chats
- Most frequently contacted friends
- Favorite servers
- Most used emojis
- Recently played games, including detailed sessions
For instance, a user may discover they played 139 sessions of Dota 2 in the past year. The Checkpoint allows for easy sharing via a dedicated button, along with screenshot options for external platforms.
Eligibility and Access
To qualify for a Discord Checkpoint, users must have been active in 2023 and consented to data usage for a personalized experience. New users or those with lower activity levels will not receive a Checkpoint.
How to Access Your Discord Checkpoint
Upon logging into the app, users will see a pop-up notification directing them to their Checkpoint. Here’s how to find it on different platforms:
- Desktop: Click the flag icon in the top right corner.
- Mobile: Tap the You icon in the bottom right, then select the green Checkpoint banner.
If the Checkpoint does not appear, ensure the Discord app is updated. Desktop users typically receive automatic updates after a restart, while mobile users may need a manual update from their app store.
Temporary Benefits and Additional Insights
Viewing the Discord Checkpoint provides users with a temporary decorative frame for their profile picture, available until January 15. Users without a Checkpoint can still attempt to access this frame.
User Statistics and Trends
Discord also shared data reflecting trends among its 200 million monthly active users. Notably, “League of Legends” remains the top game on the platform. Additionally, the indie game “R.E.P.O.” has gained popularity this year.
In terms of emojis, the red heart emoji was the most used, with 2.18 billion usages, followed by the sobbing emoji at 1.71 billion.
As users explore their gaming trends through Discord Checkpoint, the platform continues to evolve, enhancing user experience and engagement.
