Sam Mendes is helming an ambitious four-part biopic series focused on the iconic band, the Beatles. The production, titled “The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event,” recently expanded its cast to include essential figures from the band’s inner circle.

New Additions to the Cast

The recently announced cast members include:

  • David Morrissey as Jim McCartney, Paul McCartney’s father
  • Leanne Best as Mimi, John Lennon’s aunt
  • Bobby Schofield as Neil Aspinall, the band’s road manager
  • Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Mal Evans, a trusted roadie
  • Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor, press officer and friend
  • Adam Pally as Allen Klein, the controversial music manager

Key Figures in the Beatles’ Legacy

Harry Lloyd has been confirmed to portray George Martin, the Beatles’ long-time music producer. James Norton will play their influential manager, Brian Epstein. Casting for other important roles, such as Cynthia Lennon and Ravi Shankar, is yet to be announced.

The series is currently in production under Sony and Mendes’ Neal Street Productions. The scripts are crafted by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne, with Mendes directing all four films. He produces alongside Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor, with Alexandra Derbyshire also on board as a producer.

Release Plans

Sony Pictures is set to finance and handle worldwide distribution for the project, which is projected to have a full theatrical release in April 2028. This cinematic event promises to delve into the unique narratives of each band member, offering an unprecedented look at the Beatles’ legacy.
