Max Verstappen delivered an impressive performance in qualifying to secure pole position for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Competing at the Yas Marina Circuit, he initially trailed championship leader Lando Norris during the practice sessions but made a powerful comeback during the crucial Q3 phase.

Qualifying Highlights

Verstappen clocked a remarkable time of 1 minute 22.207 seconds, which was two-tenths faster than Norris. Oscar Piastri, another title contender from McLaren, followed closely, securing third place. This means all three title challengers will start the race from the front row.

After the qualifying session, Verstappen expressed satisfaction with his performance. He noted that he opted for scrubbed tires in Q2, which contributed to his strong showing. “We found a bit more lap time and of course, I’m incredibly happy to be in first,” he said.
