In a recent journey from Belgrade to Brussels with LOT Polish Airlines, the travel experience stood out for its value and service quality. The trip, booked three weeks in advance for €205 in an Economy Light fare, showcased the advantages of flying LOT over other airlines.

Travel Itinerary

The itinerary included two legs: Belgrade (BEG) to Warsaw (WAW) and Warsaw to Brussels (BRU) on August 4. Returning on August 13, the flights were LOT flight LO572 and LOT flight LO233 on the outbound trip, and LOT flight LO236 and LOT flight LO573 on the return.

Outbound Flight: BEG to WAW to BRU

Departure: Belgrade Airport, 3 hours before departure.
Flight: LOT flight LO572 operated by a Boeing 737 MAX.
Boarding: Initially scheduled at Gate C2, the actual boarding took place at Gate A7.
In-flight Service: Complimentary drinks, sweet or savory pastry, and attentive crew.
Arrival: Landed in Warsaw just one minute late.

The Boeing 737 MAX provided a comfortable cabin with adjustable headrests, USB ports, and decent legroom. The flight crew’s warmth and efficiency contributed significantly to a positive travel experience. After arriving in Warsaw, the connection involved a brief passport control and security check, which was a noted inconvenience.

Boarding: Via bus transfer from the MAX to the Embraer.
In-flight Service: Additional choice between a chocolate bar or nuts alongside the pastry.
Arrival: Landed in Brussels on time.

Despite a slight delay during pushback, the flight was comfortable, and the relaxed atmosphere was noted due to the emptiness of the aircraft compared to the earlier segment. However, LOT Polish Airlines does not provide Wi-Fi, which is a service generally available on Lufthansa Group flights.

Return Flight: BRU to WAW to BEG

Initial Leg: BRU to WAW

Departure: Brussels Airport, 2.5 hours before departure.
Flight: LOT flight LO236 on an Embraer E175.
Security Wait: Over 40 minutes, with many passengers selected for additional checks.
In-flight Service: Improved service with an extra pastry offered.
Connection: Longer connection time allowed for a more relaxed transfer in Warsaw.

Returning to Warsaw, the lack of additional security checks simplified the process. The airport offered a variety of dining options, with reasonably priced items such as sausages for around €6.

Final Leg: WAW to BEG
