Through her works, she invites people to pause and appreciate the picturesque views that often go unnoticed.
Warwickshire Scenes Illuminate Christmas Card Collection
Sharon’s artwork, created using oils and acrylics, captures the essence of winter. The cards showcase snow-covered streets and landscapes of Leamington and Warwick. These scenes were notably inspired by the severe snowfall of the ‘Beast from the East’ several years ago. Sharon expressed her desire to create Christmas cards, stating, “Snow just makes everything here look magical.”

The Christmas cards are available at several local outlets:
- Market Hall Museum Shop
- Smith Street Collective

Additionally, they can be ordered online through Sharon’s official website and Etsy shop.
Artist’s Journey
Sharon’s passion for art began in her childhood, influenced by her father, an illustrator. She learned painting techniques by observing his work. After a hiatus during her studies and early career, she rediscovered her artistic voice upon moving to Leamington Spa 15 years ago. “Leamington has such a good art scene,” she noted, “It just feels like something I’m meant to be doing.”
Connection to Local Landscape
Originally from Leicestershire, Sharon was captivated by the beauty of Leamington and Warwick. She expressed her affection for the area’s architectural diversity and historical significance. Her artwork frequently highlights atmospheric conditions, focusing on light changes at different times of day.
Favorite Local Views
One of Sharon’s most painted subjects is Warwick Castle, which she has portrayed multiple times. “That view from the bridge is just beautiful,” she said. Alongside location work, Sharon captures moments through photography, aiding her creative process. She also participates in a monthly outdoor painting group, helping her stay connected to the local environment.
Balancing Art and Career
While Sharon doesn’t paint full-time, she balances her work in software with her passion for art. Dedicating Fridays solely to her artistic pursuits has significantly impacted her output. She has recently completed local commissions, depicting Old Square and The Lord Leycester.
Future Aspirations
Sharon aims to further develop her Warwickshire series and is eager to explore new locations. She expressed enthusiasm for capturing scenes in future snowfalls, stating, “A proper snowfall would be perfect, I’d be straight out there!”
