Severe Incident on Highway 97 Sends Victim to Hospital
Emergency responders were dispatched to Highway 97 on December 8 after a serious vehicle crash in the Pink Mountain region. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the 25400 block of the Alaska Highway.

The BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) mobility services were quickly mobilized in response to the accident. Brian Twaites, a public information officer for BCEHS, noted that the agency received a distress call about the motor vehicle incident.
Emergency Response Details
- Three ambulances, staffed with primary care paramedics, responded to the scene.
- An air ambulance with critical care paramedics also participated in the rescue efforts.
- Emergency medical treatment was provided to one patient on-site.
Following initial treatment, the patient was transported to a hospital. The transfer involved ground transport followed by air evacuation, which indicates the seriousness of the injuries sustained.
