Penguins Send Forward Sam Poulin to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Team
The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned rookie forward Sam Poulin to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. This decision was made on Wednesday, merely a day after Poulin was recalled from the AHL. He did not play in Tuesday’s narrow 4-3 shootout defeat against the Anaheim Ducks, where he served as a healthy scratch.
Sam Poulin’s Performance
This season, Sam Poulin has played in two games with the NHL team, where he has been unable to register any points. On average, he has spent 13:49 on the ice per match.
Success in the AHL
Despite his struggles at the NHL level, Poulin has excelled with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He leads the team with 20 points through 21 games, comprising nine goals and 11 assists.
Penguins Roster Update
With Poulin’s reassignment, the Penguins are now down to 22 active players on their roster, just one player short of the NHL’s maximum limit.
