Angel Acquires Andy Serkis’ Animal Farm Animation, Releases Trailer
Angel has secured U.S. theatrical rights for “Animal Farm,” directed by Andy Serkis. This animated adaptation of George Orwell’s renowned novella features a stellar voice cast, including Seth Rogen, Glenn Close, Woody Harrelson, and Kieran Culkin.

The film is set for a wide release on May 1, 2026. Angel, formerly known as Angel Studios, rebranded in September 2025 after its public offering. “Animal Farm” was produced by Adam Nagle and Dave Rosenbaum from Aniventure and Jonathan Cavendish from Imaginarium Productions.

Featuring animation by Cinesite, Serkis’s adaptation boasts a screenplay crafted by Nicholas Stoller. The film debuted at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival earlier this year.
