The “When Calls the Heart” franchise is expanding with an exciting new prequel titled “Hope Valley: 1874.” This series has been officially greenlit by Hallmark+ and is set to begin filming in Vancouver next week.

The storyline centers on Rebecca Clarke, played by Bethany Joy Lenz, who travels from Chicago to the Canadian frontier with her 11-year-old daughter.

The original series, inspired by Janette Oke’s novel, has been renewed for its 13th season, set for 2026. It stars Erin Krakow, Kevin McGarry, and Jack Wagner, among others. Notably, Lori Loughlin will return following her absence due to earlier controversies.
