The accident happened late Friday evening at approximately 9:37 p.m. at the intersection of Terra Bella Street and Woodman Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), a gray Plymouth minivan heading westbound failed to stop for a red light. It collided with a blue Ford Mustang and a tan Honda Civic, which were traveling southbound on Woodman Avenue.
Circumstances Surrounding the Incident
LAPD investigators noted that the minivan’s driver was reportedly fleeing from an earlier, unrelated collision. After the crash, the driver of the Honda Civic exited the vehicle and fled the scene without providing assistance or identifying themselves, which is a legal requirement.
Victims and Injuries
- The drivers of the minivan and Ford Mustang, along with a passenger in the Mustang, were pronounced dead at the scene.
- Two of the deceased were 20 years old, and the third was a 30-year-old man in the minivan.
