Amsterdam to Berlin: New €10 Train Tickets Available

A new Dutch rail startup, GoVolta, is set to change train travel between the Netherlands and Germany. Launching in March 2026, the company promises affordable direct train services connecting Amsterdam to major cities.

New €10 Train Tickets from Amsterdam to Berlin

GoVolta, described as the “easyJet of railways,” aims to offer cost-effective travel options. Starting on March 19, 2026, the first train will make stops at various locations such as:

  • Amersfoort
  • Deventer
  • Hengelo
  • Bad Bentheim
  • Osnabrück
  • Hannover

Following this, direct service to Hamburg will begin the next day. By summer 2026, both routes will shift to daily operations.

Future Plans for Expansion

Additionally, GoVolta plans to introduce a daily train from Amsterdam to Paris by December 2026. Co-founder Maarten Bastian stated that many travelers currently prefer flying or driving due to the high costs and complexities of train travel.

“With GoVolta, we’re making it very simple: affordable tickets and always a guaranteed seat,” said Bastian. The rail service will also feature ready-made city breaks, allowing passengers to book hotels directly.

The trains will consist of 11 carriages, accommodating approximately 820 passengers. A lounge car will be available for snacks and drinks. Two classes, economy and comfort, will cater to different passenger needs.

Affordable Ticket Prices

Ticket prices are set to start at just €10 (£8.75) one-way. The average fare for a journey from Amsterdam to Berlin will be around €30 (£26). Passengers can also bring two pieces of hand luggage free of charge, while additional luggage can be accommodated through advance booking.

Commitment to Sustainable Travel

Co-founder Hessel Winkelman emphasizes GoVolta’s commitment to providing affordable fares and direct connections. The company aims to offer a sustainable alternative to short- and medium-haul flights and car travel across the Netherlands, Germany, and France.

Plans for future expansion include connections to major European destinations such as Frankfurt, Munich, Copenhagen, Bruges, and Basel, making GoVolta an exciting new player in the rail industry.
