Bruins Acquire Kolyachonok, Place Aspirot on Injured Reserve

In a recent decision, the Boston Bruins reinforced their roster by acquiring defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok from the Dallas Stars. Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney made the announcement on December 16. This move comes alongside the placement of Jonathan Aspirot on injured reserve.

Vladislav Kolyachonok Joins the Bruins

Vladislav Kolyachonok, 24, has had a brief yet impactful stint in the NHL. With the Dallas Stars, he participated in 11 games this season, where he recorded one goal and two assists, accumulating a total of three points.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 198 pounds, Kolyachonok has played in 85 career NHL games. His journey includes experiences with teams like Dallas, Pittsburgh, Utah, and Arizona. Throughout his career, he has notched five goals and 12 assists, resulting in 17 points.

Originally from Minsk, Belarus, Kolyachonok entered the league after being selected by the Florida Panthers in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, where he was picked 52nd overall.

Jonathan Aspirot on Injured Reserve

In contrast, Jonathan Aspirot, 26, has been placed on injured reserve due to an injury sustained on December 11. This season, Aspirot has played in 19 games for the Bruins, contributing one goal to the team’s efforts.

Weighing 212 pounds and measuring 6 feet tall, Aspirot also logged five games with the Providence Bruins this season. During that time, he secured one goal and two assists, totaling three points. His professional experience encompasses 297 AHL games, with achievements including 31 goals and 97 assists, resulting in 128 points.

Aspirot hails from Mascouche, Quebec, and was initially signed by the Ottawa Senators as a free agent in 2020. His placement on injured reserve marks a significant moment for the Bruins as they look to navigate the challenges of the ongoing season.
