General Manager Mike Grier of the San Jose Sharks has announced the recall of forwards Igor Chernyshov and Ethan Cardwell from the San Jose Barracuda.

Igor Chernyshov’s Impressive Performance

This recall marks Igor Chernyshov’s first opportunity in the NHL. The 20-year-old has been a standout performer in the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. Currently, he ranks fourth in the AHL with 23 points, tied for third with 11 goals and eighth with 12 assists.

  • Recent Achievement: He was named Sharks Prospect of the Week on November 25 after a five-point weekend.

Before joining the Barracuda, Chernyshov played for the Saginaw Spirit in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), finishing the season fifth in scoring with 55 points. He was selected by the Sharks in the 2024 NHL Draft as the second-round 33rd overall pick.

Ethan Cardwell’s Return to the Sharks

Ethan Cardwell, now 23 years old, joins the Sharks for the second time this season. He scored his second career NHL goal on November 5 against Seattle. Cardwell has appeared in four games with the Sharks this season.
