A doctor from Kane County is facing charges related to a serious crime involving a minor. Trevor J. Roston, 33, is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy with mental disabilities.

The alleged assault took place on November 29 at a hotel in Elgin, Illinois. Roston reportedly followed the victim into a single-use poolside bathroom, where he locked the door and committed the act. The victim has an IQ of 55, along with a physical disability and a stutter.

According to the Kane County state’s attorney, Roston was employed at Advocate Sherman Hospital when the incident occurred. Investigators clarified that the victim was not a patient and that Roston did not know him prior to the assault.

Roston is a trained pediatrician, having graduated from medical school in 2019. Although certified to treat children, he only worked with adults at the hospital. Following his arrest, he was terminated from his position.
