The transfer involved Minnesota providing Red Bull New York with $475,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM). Additionally, Red Bull retains a sell-on percentage if Stroud is sold outside of Major League Soccer (MLS).

At 23 years old, Stroud had a substantial career with Red Bull New York, appearing in 83 matches across all competitions. During his tenure, he recorded zero goals and four assists.
