Lawyer Alleges Sherrone Moore’s Long History of Domestic Violence at Michigan
Recent revelations have emerged regarding former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore, highlighting serious allegations of domestic violence. The claims stem from a relationship involving a female football staff member, as detailed by her attorney during police proceedings.
Domestic Violence Allegations Against Sherrone Moore
The case gained attention when Detective Jessica Welker from the Pittsfield Township Police Department provided sworn testimony at a complaint authorization hearing. This occurred before Moore’s arraignment on multiple charges, including:
- Third-degree home invasion
- Stalking
- Breaking and entering
Incident Details Leading to Arrest
On December 10, Moore was arrested after the female staffer revealed her relationship with him to the university earlier that same day. As she prepared to leave town, Moore allegedly forced his way into her apartment.
Heidi Sharp, the woman’s attorney from Clinton Township, Michigan, placed a 911 call during the incident. Reports indicate the attorney heard screams through the phone, with the staff member urgently stating, “He’s here. He’s here. Sherrone is here.”
Alleged Threats and Police Response
According to testimony, Moore allegedly exhibited violent behavior by grabbing knives and pointing them at both himself and the staffer. However, he denied any physical assault or threats during his police interview that night.
Although he has not been charged with assault, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that evidence suggested his intent to terrorize and harass the victim, leading to the stalking charge. The case is still under active investigation, leaving the door open for possible additional charges based on new findings.
Relationship Timeline and Communication
Moore stated to authorities that he had been in an intimate relationship with the staffer for about two years. The woman reported that she ended the relationship on December 8, just two days prior to his firing, making it clear she wished to cease all communication with him.
Despite her decision to end contact, she allegedly received numerous calls and messages from Moore over the following days. As of yet, neither party’s legal representatives have commented on the ongoing situation.
