Packers Place Defensive Lineman Micah Parsons on Injured Reserve
The Green Bay Packers have announced the placement of defensive lineman Micah Parsons on injured reserve. This decision was confirmed Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Micah Parsons’ Season Highlights
Micah Parsons had a remarkable run during the season prior to his injury. Over the course of 14 games, he made 13 starts and delivered impressive statistics:
- 41 total tackles (19 solo)
- 12.5 sacks (team leader and tied for third in the NFL)
- 12 tackles for a loss (team leader and tied for ninth in the league)
- 26 quarterback hits (team leader and fourth in the NFL)
- 83 Next Gen Stat pressures (the highest in the league)
Acknowledgements and Records
Parsons received significant recognition for his performance. He was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his impressive display against Arizona in Week 7. Additionally, he earned the title of NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October, covering Weeks 5 to 8.
Notably, Parsons has set a remarkable record. Since 1982, he is the only NFL player to achieve 12 or more sacks in each of his first five seasons, spanning from 2021 to 2025.
The Green Bay Packers now face the challenge of filling the void left by Parsons as they navigate the remainder of the season without one of their top defensive players.
