Apple TV is set to enhance its Legendary “Monsterverse” with a fresh prequel series called “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.” This new show will focus on the character Colonel Lee Shaw, played by Wyatt Russell, and his experiences in the early years of this expansive universe. Notably, Kurt Russell, Wyatt’s father and an acclaimed actor, will portray Shaw in his later years.

About the New Prequel Series

Directed by Joby Harold, who is known for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” the untitled prequel will delve into Colonel Lee Shaw’s backstory. Harold is also at the helm of Legendary’s entire “Monsterverse” franchise for Apple TV. This series aims to introduce both new Titans and beloved characters from the franchise.

Colonel Lee Shaw’s Mission

The narrative follows Colonel Lee Shaw, an American operative. In 1984, he embarks on a covert mission behind enemy lines. His objective is to prevent the Soviets from unleashing a destructive Titan massive enough to alter the course of the Cold War.
