Reasons for the Shift

The Bears committed significant time and resources to develop a stadium in Cook County, particularly in Arlington Heights, where they purchased land for a projected domed stadium. However, the support needed for critical local infrastructure improvements—such as roads and utilities—has not been forthcoming.

The Bears are now turning their attention to Indiana as a viable option. Warren’s approach is not to create a contest between Illinois and Indiana but rather to ensure that the Bears remain in Chicago while exploring alternatives.
