The FHSAA’s 2026-28 football rankings categorize schools into different classes based on their size and student enrollment. These classifications impact team placements and competition levels.
Classifications Breakdown
- Rural: 1-657 students (24 teams)
- Class 1A: 1-499 students (40 teams)
- Class 2A: 500-999 students (47 teams)
- Class 3A: 1,000-1,499 students (77 teams)
- Class 4A: 1,500-1,899 students (89 teams)
- Class 5A: 1,900-2,399 students (81 teams)
- Class 6A: 2,400 students and above (81 teams)
