Trio of Wildcats Selected for Philly Soccer Super XI Team
The Philadelphia Soccer Six has unveiled its end-of-season awards and the Top XI team after a vote by league coaches. This year saw a trio of standout athletes from Penn earn top honors.
Key Awards and Honors
Patrick Cayelli was named the Player of the Year. He is a senior from Anderson, South Carolina, and registered an impressive season:
- Led the Ivy League in points with 26
- Ranked first in assists with 8
- Tied for first in goals, achieving 9
Cayelli also earned five Player of the Week awards, including the final three weeks of the season.
Defensive and Goalkeeping Excellence
Oliver Pratt received the Defensive Player of the Year honor. The senior from Miami, Florida, played a crucial role in a defense that allowed only 12 goals over 17 matches. Pratt contributed offensively with:
- Three goals
- Four assists
Phillip Falcon III, a junior from Tampa, Florida, was named Goalkeeper of the Year. His performance included:
- A record of 7 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws
- A goals against average of 0.58, ranking second in the Ivy League
- Seven clean sheets over the season
Notable Rookie Performance
Jack Shannon earned the title of Rookie of the Year. The freshman from Houston, Texas, started 14 matches and received recognition as Third Team All-CAA. He was also featured in the Top Drawer Midseason Freshman Top 100 list.
