Adrian Dubois has been appointed as the new Head Coach for the University of Vermont Men’s Soccer program. This announcement was made by Jeff Schulman, the Director of Athletics, marking Dubois as the ninth head coach in the program’s history.

On Wednesday afternoon, Jeff Schulman expressed his enthusiasm for Dubois’ appointment, highlighting his significant contributions as Associate Head Coach. Schulman stated, “Adrian was involved in every aspect of our program and was directly responsible for recruiting top players. He helped lead us to the 2024 National Championship.”

Dubois’ Background and Achievements

Dubois previously spent five seasons as a member of the Catamounts coaching staff, serving as the Recruiting Coordinator. His tenure saw the recruitment of multiple top talents, including:

  • Three MAC Hermann Watch List honorees
  • Two All-Americans
  • Eight All-Region selections
  • Two America East goalkeepers of the year
  • Two MLS SuperDraft selections

In 2022, Dubois played a critical role in leading the Catamounts to the NCAA Quarterfinals and achieving a then program-best No. 4 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches final poll. That season, Vermont finished with a 16-4-2 record, tying multiple program records.

Historic Performance and Coaching Philosophy

Dubois emphasized the unique blend of community connection, competitive ambition, and university values at Vermont. He remarked, “I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to carry forward that legacy and develop world-class student-athletes.”

Before returning to Vermont, Dubois served as Associate Head Coach at San Diego State. There, he helped secure the team’s first WAC regular season championship, leading them to a 7-0-1 record in conference play.

Dubois has an extensive coaching history, including:

  • Head Coach at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine (2014-2018)
  • Coaching roles at UMass Boston (2013-2014) and UC San Diego (2011-2013)

In youth soccer, he was recognized as Vermont’s Boys Competitive Coach of the Year in 2021 and excelled at coaching various age groups, including the U-19 Academy Team for Seacoast United Soccer Club.

Personal Background

Hailing from Acworth, New Hampshire, Dubois was a standout midfielder at the University of New Hampshire from 2004 to 2008. He earned accolades such as the New Hampshire High School All-America and Gatorade Player of the Year.
